New Stefan Sundström album confirmed for late November

Stefan Sundström will release his new album "Ingenting har hänt" on November 25 via National Records.

MNW turns 40

In addition to the 40th anniversary concert mentioned earlier, MNW is also releasing a book and 4CD collection for their birthday called "Ljud från Waxholm" featuring interviews, rare pictures, 250 album covers and 68 tracks from the label's history. As they say themselves, "från Björn Afzelius till Ebba Forsberg." The release date is October 14. And that's not all- they will also apparently be doing a few special anniversary reissues from their 70s back-catalogue and have also put together a tribute comp entitled "Retur Waxholm" featuring current artists covering classic MNW songs. That one comes out October 7 and here's the tracklist:

Swedish record label National (Stefan Sundström, The Mo , Alice in Videoland, Cajsalisa Ejemyr and Kristian Anttila) has split from Bonnier Amigo and become wholly independent. I fully expect we'll see more of this trend as indie labels become more and more self-reliant so that they can retain more profits in the ever-increasingly troubled music world. Coming soon from the label is new stuff from Pugh and a new album from Stefan Sundström in fall.

The Bukks premiere their new video for the track "The Move" tomorrow November 18 at Alcazar in Stockholm. Stockholm's Wild Kingdom Records just released a split 7" with garage-rock legends The Nomads and The Hellacopters both playing a version of the former's classic tune "Pack of Lies". 1000 copies only, so be sure to track one down soon if you're interested.

In other Hellacopter news, the band is currently working on putting together "Cream of the crap! vol. 2" for a January release as well as a new split 7" with Adam West, also due later this year from People Like You Records. And that's not all - band members Boba and Robert D. are in the studio working on a brand new Diamond Dogs record from late November until January and also Nick and Robert D. will be touring as the backing band for singer/songwriter Stefan Sundström, playing drums and guitar respectively.

Whyte Seeds will be on MTV Morning Glory playing live and being interviewed. It'll be aired Saturday 5/4 @ 10:00, Sunday 6/4 @ 10:00, and Tuesday 8/4 @ 19:00.

Amir Chamdin who did "FWIW" will do "The storm" video. He has requested a lot bare chests and wet looks ! :-) We will shoot it around the 8:th of April in a secret but familiar place!

Scapesonik just put out a new demo. Email them if you're interested. The price is 30 SEK/$3/£2 plus postage.

Lullacry's new single out on April 28 will be for the song "Alright Tonight". A re-recording of the track "Sweet Desire" will be included as the b-side.

Gluecifer reports that they are indeed heading back to the US to tour in support a domestic release of "Basement Apes". No dates yet, but I'll be sure to let you know. As for their next album, they're still doing preproduction and writing and expect to have it done around August or September for a January 2004 release.

Askil Holm reports that the opening date on his tour went really, really well and he's getting great reviews. He's also got some more dates lined up for the future:

Katatonia just entered a studio outside of Stockholm to record their 6th album. 15 tracks to be done in 4 weeks. The band promises it to be their darkness, heaviest album yet.
